About Direct Care Resources:
With over 25 years of experience, Direct Care Resources is a trusted care provider in South-East Queensland. We prioritise the health, safety, and well-being of our participants, specialising in support for SIL (Supported Independent Living) houses and Child Protection Services.
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities include assisting participants with challenging behaviours, supporting individuals with physical, intellectual, or psychiatric disabilities, and providing compassionate care to vulnerable children and young people under Child Protection Orders.
Your Responsibilities*
* Provide support with daily living activities, including housekeeping, cooking, grocery shopping, personal care, and hygiene, while maintaining safe routines and appropriate boundaries.
* Support children, young people, and participants with community access and transportation, including school, appointments, and activities.
* Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional and behavioural needs in line with individual care and behaviour support plans.
* Complete mandatory shift notes, handovers, and incident reports accurately and in line with Child Safety and industry standards.
* Administer medication safely in accordance with policies and individual care plans.
* Be willing to travel within the Southwest Region and participate in community access with participants.

The successful candidate will demonstrate flexible availability, including the ability to work sleepovers, overnights, weekends, and varied shift times.
In addition to these important personal qualities, the ideal candidate will also have / willing to obtain:
* Current QLD Driver's Licence (open or P2)
* Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive insurance
* Eligibility to work in Australia Work rights (Passport/Birth Certificate)
* Current CPR and First Aid certificates
* Blue Card & NDIS Screening Check
* First Aid & CPR certificates
* Relevant qualifications (Cert III, Cert IV, Diplomas Etc)
* NDIS Workers Orientation Module
* Child Safety Division – LCS2 Clearance
