The Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and oversee our Service Department. This is an office-based leadership role, where you will manage service operations, engage directly with customers, and ensure our team delivers outstanding technical expertise and customer care. You will focus on building strong customer relationships, resolving issues quickly, and driving continuous improvement across our service operations — without being out on the tools yourself.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop the service team to achieve excellence
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and advocacy
* Provide clear communication and effective problem-solving for customer issues
* Oversee service schedules, repairs, and maintenance coordination (managed by your team)
* Make informed decisions on warranty and goodwill claims
* Deliver training and coaching to customers, dealers, and staff on safe operation and maintenance
* Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams to improve product performance
* Represent Grainking professionally in customer interactions and industry events
About You
* Relevant trade or engineering qualifications (mechanical trade or mechanical engineering)
* Senior-level experience in service management within agricultural machinery or heavy equipment industries
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to different audiences
* Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities
* Highly developed problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Leadership and people management experience
* Business acumen with the ability to uplift team capability and performance
* Applied knowledge of OH&S legislation and industry standards
* Valid driver's licence (occasional travel may be required)
