Competitive salary & benefits
* Salary between $6,980.10 – $10,221.70 per fortnight (L13–L27).
* 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14‑17.5% loading.

About your opportunity
As a Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist – Anaesthetics), you will provide medical leadership and high‑quality clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. This role offers the chance to work in a rural hospital environment, contribute to teaching and research, and make a meaningful impact on the health of the Hinchinbrook community.
Requirements
* Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Either:
o Currently enrolled with the Australian General Practice Training Program or alternatives available including RVTS or Independent pathway.
o Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is preferred.
* Ideally the candidate would be a Rural Generalist with:
o Successful completion of advanced skills training in Anaesthetics (JCCA, Dip RGA, Advanced Certification in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia) or about to complete training year (pending examination).
* This position may also require the incumbent to work at other facilities including Townsville University Hospital to maintain skills within anaesthesia.
* Class C driver's licence.
* Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
* A probationary period may apply.
