Role Overview
As an Allied Health Assistant in the Physiotherapy team, you will support Allied Health professionals in delivering quality care by assisting with patient mobility, treatment preparation, and group activities. This role involves supervising exercises, maintaining equipment, and performing clerical tasks. You will maintain clear communication with clinicians and uphold patient privacy and dignity throughout all interactions, delivering the best care possible.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient mobility and supervision of exercises as delegated
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment
- Support group activities and patient education
- Maintain equipment and assist with clerical tasks
- Communicate effectively with clinicians and ensure patient privacy and dignity
Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or other equivalent qualification or willingness to obtain it
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with manual handling of patients and equipment
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and organise a busy workload
- Ability to undertake clinical duties with patients once delegated and operate with minimal direct supervision
- Computer literacy with Office, email, and electronic patient record systems
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel for work
