The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strong strategic and operational leadership across residential aged care and retirement services, guiding the organisation through a period of sector reform, consolidation, infrastructure development and strategic opportunity. This is a highly hands‐on CEO role, suited to a leader who enjoys being visible, engaged and connected with staff, residents, families and the broader community. A key priority for the incoming CEO will be to lead the planning and delivery of an extension to the existing residential aged care facility, requiring strong project oversight, stakeholder engagement and collaboration with regulators and local government. The CEO will also play a prominent leadership role across the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region, strengthening partnerships, reputation and long‐term sustainability. Existing residency in Rockhampton (or relocation) is required to ensure strong on‐site leadership and community presence.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person‐centered aged care services
* Lead the implementation of the organisation's strategic plan and operational priorities
* Drive financial sustainability, performance and risk management
* Maintain strong governance practices and an effective, transparent relationship with the Board
* Lead and develop a high-performing Executive Leadership Team
* Provide visible, hands‐on leadership across daily operations and service delivery
* Oversee the planning and delivery of a major facility expansion project
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legislative and accreditation requirements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Rockhampton Regional Council, key stakeholders and the broader community
* Promote a positive, values‐based and engagement‐focused organisational culture
About You
You are an experienced, values‐driven executive leader with a deep understanding of aged care operations and the evolving regulatory environment. You combine strategic thinking with operational pragmatism, enjoy leading from the front, and remain closely connected to people, services and place.
Selection Criteria
The following attributes are required:
* Proven CEO or senior executive experience in aged care, health or community services delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred services
* Track record leading strategy execution, implementing sector reform and managing organisational risk and compliance
* Strong commercial, financial and operational leadership with a focus on performance and sustainability
* Experienced in governance and working effectively with a Board
* Hands‐on leader who builds high-performing teams and drives a strong, values-based culture
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including government and community partnerships
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, health, finance or a related discipline
Experience delivering major projects is desirable.
