Backspace Living is a premium residential builder specialising in custom secondary dwellings, with over 11 years' experience and 550+ homes delivered across Newcastle and surrounding regions.
We're looking for a team playing qualified Carpenter to join our growing team and help deliver our projects to a consistently high standard. This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys finishing work, and contributes positively to a strong team culture.
The Role
As a Carpenter at Backspace Living, you'll be involved across various stages of residential construction, with a strong focus on quality, finishing, and attention to detail.
You'll work alongside supervisors, apprentices, and the wider team to ensure each build is completed properly, efficiently, and to our standards not rushed or cut short.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out carpentry works across residential builds, including framing, fix-out, cladding and finishing
• Complete final carpentry and defect works to close out projects to a high standard
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors and management
• Assist with mentoring and supporting apprentices on site
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients when required
About You
• Trade qualified Carpenter (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in residential construction
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Confident across fix-out and finishing carpentry
• Reliable, professional, and a positive influence on site
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• White Card and valid driver's licence
• Own tools and reliable transport
