Configuration Manager - MC-55A Program

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Configuration Manager (CM) to lead and deliver complex CM activities in support of a high-profile Defence aviation program.
This role is critical to ensuring robust configuration control, compliance, and continuous improvement across the MC-55A platform.
Reporting to the Team Lead, you will provide trusted technical expertise and advice to the Program, working closely with Commonwealth representatives, the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO), Defence personnel, and internal stakeholders.
You will play a key role in driving effective CM practices, supporting informed decision-making, and identifying opportunities to improve CM efficiency and capability.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice across all Configuration Management functions, including:
* CM Planning & Management
* Configuration Identification
* Configuration Change Management
* Configuration Status Accounting (CSA)
* Configuration Verification & Audit
* Support and provide oversight to the Surveillance, Intelligence and Life-Support Systems Program Office (SILSPO) for effective configuration control.
* Deliver solutions to complex and escalated CM issues, utilising data analysis and direct engagement with key stakeholders to achieve quality business outcomes.
* Actively contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of CM plans, procedures, work instructions, and tools.
* Support CM quality activities, audits, and CSA reporting.
* Mentor, train, and develop CM capability within the team and across stakeholders.
* Lead or support investigations into quality and safety issues through to resolution.
About You
Essential Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Configuration Management, preferably within Defence aviation.
* Strong knowledge of CM principles, functions, and health monitoring.
* Demonstrated experience managing CM within a Product Lifecycle Management Tool (PLMT).
* In-depth understanding of the interdependencies between CM, airworthiness, and support functions (Engineering, ILS, Programs, Technical Support, and Customer).
* Knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g. DASR, CASA, CAANZ, or equivalent).
* Experience controlling Defence technical data, including ITAR and Export Controlled Data.
Desirable Qualifications
* Certification or accreditation in Configuration Management and/or Software Configuration Management.
* Certification in CM standards and frameworks.
* Certification in Export Control Compliance.
* Technical trade qualification or relevant experience across Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
