An opportunity has become available for Part time Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant at our Port Melbourne Laboratory.
The position involves working in a fast-paced environment and will be suitable for individuals who pride themselves on the level of accuracy in their work and have a strong customer focus. You will work as part of an experienced and dedicated team with exposure to a wide variety of work in a dedicated clinical trials facility. You will be involved in the routine processing of samples, heavily involved in kit packing and distribution and responsible for assisting with invoicing, inventory and ordering tasks associated with function of the laboratory. The successful applicant will be an experienced Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Assistant with the ability to participate in a 7-day rotating roster that includes afternoon shifts.
Skills and experience
* Diploma in Laboratory Science strongly preferred
* Previous experience in a Clinical Laboratory in the Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology field preferred
* Basic sample handling, aliquoting and receipting sample experience is essential
* Clinical trial experience, including kit packing strongly preferred
* Excellent communication and Microsoft Office skills
* High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment
* An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
* Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team
