Associate Lecturer – Indonesian Language and Culture – School of Languages and Cultures
Part‐time (0.2 FTE), fixed‐term until 29Nov2027. Base salary: $93,424–$125,896 pro‐rata per annum + 17% superannuation.
Position Overview
Responsible for teaching and coordinating undergraduate Indonesian language units (beginner to advanced), developing curriculum, participating in team teaching, and performing academic administration and service roles. The role will allocate up to 70% (preferably) of the academic workload to education and educational development.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach and coordinate current undergraduate language units of study in Indonesian (beginner through advanced).
* Develop and review the language curriculum.
* Participate in teaching collaboration, including team‐teaching of undergraduate units of study.
* Contribute to academic administration and perform service roles as required.
Qualifications
* PhD or equivalent in Indonesian language and culture; MA holders with an exceptionally strong teaching portfolio are encouraged.
* Native or near‐native competency and fluency in Indonesian.
* Excellent communicative ability in English.
* Experience teaching Indonesian at tertiary level.
* Experience with e‐Learning platforms and online teaching; ability to develop online material for blended learning modules.
* Excellent problem‐solving, time‐management, and interpersonal skills.
* Evidence of capacity to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Ability to assume service roles in administration and planning within the Indonesian Studies Discipline.
Additional Requirements
* Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
* No visa sponsorship is available.
* Required to complete pre‐employment and background checks in line with university policy.
