OverviewGovernment Lawyer (6-month contract) – Albion, Brisbane. Public sector regulation and litigation focus. The role is with a Queensland Government regulatory body responsible for maintaining integrity and public confidence within a high-profile industry. The initial contract is 6 months with potential extension. This position offers exposure at the intersection of regulation, investigations and administrative law within a collaborative legal team. The RoleReporting to the Principal Legal Officer, manage a varied and intellectually engaging caseload. Handling internal reviews and external appeals (RAP & QCAT). Preparing submissions, briefs and legal documentation. Assisting with hearings and supporting senior legal staff. Advising on procedural fairness, natural justice and regulatory frameworks. Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Exposure to administrative law, regulatory decision-making and tribunal processes. About YouAdmission (or eligibility for admission) as a Legal Practitioner in Australia. A current practising certificate (preferred). Experience or interest in administrative law, litigation or regulatory work. Strong drafting and communication skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously. What's on OfferCompetitive salary: $90,399 – $98,046 plus 12.75% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
