About the role The primary purpose of this key position is to train Inner West Council library staff on new policies, procedures and processes and be the first point of contact for work experience, placement students and volunteers seeking opportunities in the library. Working across all aspects of the Library, you will work with Library Managers and other specialty staff to identify training requirements, prepare training guides and programs and deliver update training to staff. It is envisaged that this position will initially focus predominately on working internally, but as the position grows there is an opportunity for the role to extend to the general public. As part of the work experience and placement coordination of the role – you will work to ensure students and volunteers have a meaningful experience. The location of this position will rotate as the successful candidate will be expected to work across the eight library services developing and delivering programs and working on the library. Remuneration $93,598.96 - $108,025.32 12% Superannuation Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications Degree or higher of Library and Information Services recognised by the Australia Library & Information (ALIA) and/or Education/Training or equivalent or tertiary qualifications in a related discipline with experience to meet essential experience or skills criteria. Demonstrated experience and a successful track record in public libraries including information services, digital collection development, library programs and technology. Extensive knowledge of Library technologies and associated e-programs and databases. Demonstrated experience in customer service and continued service development.
