We are seeking an experienced Ecological Specialist to join our team of industry-leading ecological experts in Canberra or other locations. This role requires providing ecological assessments and advice related to large infrastructure project approvals and natural resource management projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver rehabilitation, monitoring, biodiversity surveys, impact and offset assessments, and ecological management plans
* Conduct environmental analyses, research, and field surveys
* Write technical environmental reports, proposals, and tenders
* Plan and manage projects of varying complexity and scale
* Build relationships with clients while pursuing new business opportunities
* Work independently with guidance and mentor junior staff
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous consulting experience in biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting in NSW/ACT
* Significant field experience, including BAM and BBAM, ecological monitoring, plant species identification, and data collection and analysis
* PCTs and vegetation identification training and botany skills
* BAM Accreditation is highly regarded
* Experience in GIS, field mapping, and spatial dataset development and management
* Knowledge of NSW BAM and State/Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy
