SMS (Student Management System) Developer
A major Melbourne-based tertiary institution is seeking a Student Management System Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing critical applications that underpin the core student experience.

This position requires the ability to operate under broad direction, prioritise complex demands with the support of a wider team, and make collaborative sound technical decisions that align with security and architectural standards.
Key Accountabilities
* Complex Software Development: Analyse functional specifications, prepare designs, and develop sophisticated application software (including ETLs, custom workflows, and reporting) to deliver high-quality solutions.
* Production Support: Provide expert assistance in troubleshooting, finding the root cause of production incidents, and ensuring system stability and continuity.
* Technical Consultation: Serve as a technical resource, providing consultation on requirements scoping and ensuring alignment with existing architecture.
* System Integration: Implement system integration and data migration solutions using APIs, web services, and batch processing.
* Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts to convert business needs into technical solutions, and adhere to group policies and procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience
* ERP Expertise: Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the architecture, functionality, and customisation capabilities of TechnologyOne (specifically the StudentOne or similar modules). Alternative experience in Student Management Systems will be considered as well if other skill requirements are met.
* Demonstrated Development Skills: Proven experience in designing and developing ETLs, custom workflows, and reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports) within the TechnologyOne environment, preferably in cloud-hosted setups.
* Programming Proficiency: Expertise in one or more relevant programming languages such as SQL, Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, and/or .NET.
* Technical Documentation: Excellent technical writing skills with a history of producing clear, comprehensive technical and testing documentation.
Qualifications
A degree with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
