**About the Role**
Reporting to the Maintenance Officer you will undertake required tasks for both planned and preventative maintenance within the Estates Team. You will be responsible for a day-to-day response to identify effects and carry out necessary repairs to plant and equipment within the whole site.
**About You**
As the Maintenance Assistant you have the ability to work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility while building and sustaining positive relationships with hospital employees and other key stakeholders. You hold the ethos: Your work is never too urgent or important that you cannot take the time to do it safely. Your ability to problem solve and complete tasks with a high quality of service despite time constraints will see you succeed in this position. You're a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional values in everything you do.
**What we're looking for**:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- Trade, or relevant qualification or equivalent experience within either a building, general building maintenance or vinyl floor repairs
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong relationship and communication skills as you will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a national police check as an essential selection component for this role._
