About the Role
Part‐time contract opportunity (63 hours fortnight) located in Port Kembla, contract until May 2027. The position is for an Administration and Program Support Worker who will provide day‐to‐day support to the Newpin team and program, helping children be restored to their parents within a supportive therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
Provide administration support and back‐of‐house coordination to the team and centre coordinator. Respond to evolving needs of the program, support duties such as transport of families, assist with playgroups. Apply a trauma‐responsive lens to ensure the well‐being of children and parents. Communicate effectively with participants, families, children, external stakeholders, service providers, government agencies, team members, and leadership.
Qualifications
* Minimum Certificate IV in Business Administration and/or Community Services.
* Understanding of child protection issues and ability to identify and address them with families.
* Knowledge of the impact of trauma and experience working with families/children affected by trauma.
* Exceptional administrative skills and high‐level proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Understanding of culturally safe and sensitive service delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with colleagues (internal and external).
* Current driver's licence and commitment to transporting families in organisational vehicles.
* Compliance with NSW Working with Children Check and National Police History Check requirements.
* Commitment to social change and contributing to an organisation that advocates for the most disadvantaged.
