State Manager

Drive growth. Lead high‑performing teams. Shape operational excellence.

We are seeking an experienced State Manager to lead sales, operations, and customer service performance across the state. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on management of sales teams and warehouse/distribution functions to deliver revenue, profitability and service targets.


Key Responsibilities


Sales & Business Development

* Develop and execute state‑level sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve revenue and margin targets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
* Identify new business opportunities and drive market share growth.


Operational Management

* Oversee warehouse and distribution operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
* Implement best practices in inventory management, order fulfilment and logistics.
* Monitor operational KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.


Leadership & People Management

* Provide clear direction and leadership to teams across sales and operations.
* Foster a high‑performance culture built on accountability, collaboration and customer satisfaction.
* Manage workforce planning, recruitment and staff development to support business growth.


Financial & Reporting

* Work closely with the Group Sales Manager and Group Commercial Manager on state budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
* Monitor financial performance and take corrective action where required.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.


Experience, Knowledge & Skills

* Minimum 3+ years in a leadership role with combined sales and operational responsibilities.
* Proven sales leadership experience, ideally within building products, trade or related industries.
* Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution operations.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑functional teams and deliver results.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting and financial management experience.
