Overview

Join to apply for the Podiatrist (505512L9) role at the Department of Health, Tasmania.

This role is suited to graduates and experienced podiatrists looking to work with the Department of Health. New graduates will be supported to transition from student to competent health professional through a structured two-year graduate program.

The Team: The Podiatry Team is based at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), a major clinical teaching and research centre. The team provides outpatient and community outreach services with a focus on high‑risk foot conditions and acute foot problems, and works closely with a multidisciplinary team.

The Role

- Deliver a wide range of podiatric assessments and interventions based on best practice and patient‑centred care for clients referred to the podiatry service.
- Work within podiatry and multidisciplinary teams to deliver podiatry services or programs relevant to local community health centres and outpatient services of the RHH.
- Prescribe and/or fabricate orthotic/offloading devices as appropriate.

Details of appointment

- Multiple permanent full-time and part-time, day worker positions, up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
- Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant where applicable.
- Selection process may be used for future similar vacancies for 12 months from the date of publication.

Salary and benefits

- Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation on top.
- Salary range aligned with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.
- Salary Packaging options: perks including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, plus other eligible benefits.
- Leave entitlements including study leave and Professional Development Support.
- Fitness Passport: access to 40+ facilities across Tasmania for a weekly rate per person or family rate.

Eligibility and selection

- Tertiary qualification/program approved by the Podiatry Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
