About the Department
The RBA Financial Stability Department's overarching purpose is to enhance the resilience of the Australian financial system, with a vision to be an open and dynamic department, trusted for its analysis and policy advice. Our strategy comprises six key priorities which form an exciting work program: assessing financial stability, building crisis readiness, understanding financial stability-monetary policy interactions, working with the CFR to address systemic risks, partnering with peers, and strengthening our key enablers.
About the Policy and International Section
The Policy & International team of Financial Stability Department advises on developments in overseas financial systems relevant to Australian financial stability; seeks to contribute to the global regulatory policy debate; and is responsible for developing and improving the Bank's frameworks for advice on domestic financial stability policy. In doing so, the Policy & International team collaborates with others across the department, Bank and other domestic and international agencies to achieve the department's objectives and strategic priorities, which in turn support the Bank's objectives and strategic priorities.
About the Role
As Senior Manager, Policy & International, you will lead, inspire, enable and develop a team of around 10 people responsible for:
* providing high-quality analysis and policy advice regarding developments in overseas economies and financial systems with a focus on how they could affect, or inform understanding of, financial stability in Australia
* supporting the RBA's contribution to the global regulatory policy debate through involvement in international financial bodies such as the Financial Stability Board, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the Executives' Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks
* the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Bank's frameworks for financial stability policy advice and analysis.
As a part of the FS Senior Management Team, you will also contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the Department. Our senior managers work collaboratively to prioritise and, together with their teams, deliver on our strategy.
Your background
* A strategic and agile leader, able to help your team and department navigate a changing environment and deliver strategic priorities.
* Strong people leadership and influencing skills, and a strong willingness to drive an inclusive culture and team-based approach to work.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills together with an ability to work collaboratively with others.
* Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial stability-related issues preferred.
* Post graduate qualifications in economics or related field.
Please note: The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance which is a key requirement of this role.
