Relish The Barossa is a Food Manufacturing business based in the iconic Barossa Valley. We make Premium, Gourmet and High-Quality Sauces, Soups, Jams and Caramels as part of our range and are known as the Go-To Production Facility for High-Quality brands across Australia.
We're seeking a motivated and positive permanent staff member to join our growing cooking team and there are opportunities for growth both within and as part of the business now and into the future.
Shifts are 8 hours in length with a paid break during the normal day hours of Monday to Friday. We also offer ample opportunities for paid overtime during the week.
As part of the role, the successful applicant will:
* Record and manage production processes in line with Food Safety Standards, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Principals.
* Maintain strict personal hygiene standards for Ready-to-Eat and shelf stable products.
* Improve products, systems and processes through collaboration with Management and QA.
* Work with Customers, Food Technologists and QA on new products to be sure products are designed in ways that suits the customer as well as the kitchen.
* Lead, train, and motivate a positive production team.
* Be part of a multi-skilled and multi-disciplinary team on a day to day basis.
* Assist with managing food and labour costings through group meetings and direct conversations with management.
* Support management and QA teams with operational tasks.
* Assist with developing and implementing new processes and procedures where required.
* Provide assistance to the management and QA team as required.
* Cert III in Food Production is offered to and paid for all permanent production staff as well as the opportunity for support in additional training and development.
We're looking for candidates with:
* 1-2 years experience as a chef or in commercial food production
* Experience in food production preferred but not essential
Physical requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 15kg regularly
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
