Your role at St John of God Bendigo
We are seeking applications for a Food Service Assistant to join our Catering department on a casual basis for our Coffee shop – Barista. You will provide a professional hospital service in line with our St John of God values, maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all food services areas and transport food trolleys and other kitchen equipment to units and other areas.
Responsibilities
* Transport food trolleys, other trolleys and kitchen equipment to wards, and other areas as directed
* Wash kitchen pots, pans and utensils as directed and to store all cooking equipment away in the correct areas
* Participate in departmental and hospital training and development programs
* Assist with the sorting and storage of food and stores received by the department
* Adherence and understanding of Food Safety Plan requirements
* Assembly of meal trays for patient according to standard working procedure, selection made from individual menu cards
* Preparation and plating of specified items prior to meal service
* Stripping of meal trays returned from patients and sorting and separation of component into baskets ready for washing
You will have food handling skills including hygiene standards and basic knowledge of all areas of kitchen hygiene.

* Ability to prioritise work, work to a set schedule and use problem-solving skills
