Position Details
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated teacher to join our vibrant primary school community in a unique dual role combining Physical Education and classroom teaching. This position involves teaching Physical Education across the school for three days per week and teaching a Year 3 classroom for two days per week. It is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is committed to fostering student wellbeing, engagement and a love of learning both in and out of the classroom. However, the structure of the role is negotiable, and applicants seeking a three‐day Physical Education teaching position only or a two‐day classroom position only are also encouraged to apply.
This is a temporary position, until the end of the year, but there is a possibility of continuing into 2027.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing and the development of the whole child, fostering a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth.
* Proven ability to deliver high‐quality Physical Education programs that promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and a lifelong appreciation of physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
* Capacity to effectively plan, teach and assess engaging classroom programs, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy development within a Year 3 context.
* Strong classroom management skills with the ability to build positive relationships and maintain a purposeful and respectful learning environment.
* Ability to differentiate teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and families to support student success.
* Demonstrated organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to manage a dual‐role workload across specialist and classroom teaching responsibilities, including coordinating carnivals and managing events.
* Commitment to active participation in the broader life of the school community, including sporting events, extracurricular activities and whole‐school initiatives. Communication and Teamwork Skills, and a willingness to work with outside providers.
* Desired:
o Bronze Medallion, senior First Aider or willingness to work towards these.
