About the Role
Based in BYD's Melbourne office in Mulgrave, this role will support our BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute Team. On offer is a Product Test Engineer position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:
Design, plan, and execute tests on vehicle systems, components, and complete vehicles.
Collaborate closely with R&D Engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
Set up vehicles with scan tools, data loggers, and other test equipment for a variety of vehicle tests.
Analyze data and prepare detailed test reports; communicate findings clearly to engineering teams and stakeholders.
Identify and drive improvements in testing methodologies, tools, and workflows.
Stay informed of the latest advancements in automotive technologies and testing best practices.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in an automotive testing role or similar position.
Proficient in the use of scan tools (VDS, Canbox), data loggers, and diagnostic/testing equipment in an automotive environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Other Requirement:
Willingness to work onsite, 5 days a week, and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
