Wok Temptation is an Asian style restaurant with an extensive range of menu selections and it is trading from 11am till 8.30pm 7 days a week, we provide Australian-style Chinese cuisine, authentic Asian and Cantonese cuisine. Now we have a vacancy opening for an Asian cook. We are looking for an experienced and qualified candidate.
Responsibilities and main duties:
Discuss food preparation issues with managers, chefs and kitchen staff
Prepare raw materials and cooking equipment for Asian foods
Monitor cooking processes to ensure proper cooking, portioning, and presentation
Demonstrate Asian foods techniques and advising on cooking
Preparing and cooking a wide variety of menu items in a timely manner
Assist in training junior cooks or kitchenhand
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control of food supplies and equipment
About You:
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
A relevant Cert IV in cookery/ kitchen management qualification required
Minimum of 1 year experience as an Asian chef
Be punctual and observe regular attendance
Be willing to be a team player helping with training kitchen staff when required
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in Asian cuisine, be able to use commercial wok
