We're partnering with a leading Financial Services organisation and a true leader in their field who are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer – Azure, to act as a technical authority across a complex Azure environment, working closely with internal teams and delivery partners.
This role sits at the centre of a multi-year cloud programme, focused on building out a robust Azure platform, validating vendor deliverables, and ensuring best-practice architecture across the environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Lead and contribute to the design of Azure architecture, including landing zones, networking and security controls
* Provide technical oversight and assurance across third‐party/vendor deliverables
* Review and validate Infrastructure as Code (Bicep), ensuring alignment to standards and best practice
* Support the build and evolution of Azure landing zones and platform governance
* Guide hybrid connectivity design including hub‐and‐spoke, ExpressRoute and network architecture
* Identify risks, gaps and design issues, and provide clear recommendations
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to support decision-making and programme governance
* Contribute to documentation including architecture decisions, findings reports and technical artefacts
* Support cloud migration activities, including workload planning and cutover strategy
What you'll bring:
* Strong hands‐on Azure infrastructure experience across enterprise environments
* Proven experience designing and implementing Azure landing zones
* Deep understanding of Azure networking.
* Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Bicep
* Experience working alongside MSPs or vendors, providing technical assurance and oversight
* Ability to operate as a senior technical voice, challenging and validating design decisions
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
* Experience with security tooling such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel or Zscaler
* Azure certifications (AZ‐305 or similar)
* Exposure to regulated or enterprise‐scale environments
The role:
* $180k package
* Melbourne‐based, hybrid working (typically 3 days from office).
