About the Role
Blue Zoo is recruiting a mid‑career internal auditor who wants to broaden their capability into corporate advisory. The role suits an assurance professional who enjoys structured audit work and wants direct exposure to governance reviews, strategy assignments, risk uplift programmes and board‑facing projects.
The position conducts internal audits across governance, finance and operations. The work covers audit planning, fieldwork, testing, analysis and reporting. The role also contributes to advisory work involving governance maturity, policy improvement, strategic planning and enterprise risk management. The position manages its own workload and works directly with senior consultants and client executives.
Key Accountabilities
* Deliver internal audits using disciplined methods and strong evidence trails.
* Assess governance arrangements, operational controls and organisational performance.
* Write clear audit reports that set out findings and practical recommendations.
* Support advisory projects and client workshops.
* Assist in the preparation of board papers and executive briefing material.
* Maintain high‑quality working papers and follow internal QA processes.
* Build capability inside client organisations through guidance and training.
Your Background
* Five to ten years in internal audit, financial audit, risk or assurance.
* Strong writing skills and clean analytical judgement.
* Confidence working with executives and operational teams.
* Sound knowledge of audit planning, control testing and reporting standards.
* Experience with government, regulated industries or medium‑sized organisations.
* CIA, CA, CPA or similar qualification, or active progress toward one.
* Strong ethics and a disciplined approach to independence.
