Their market is evolving quickly and entering an important growth phase. To support this, we are looking for an experienced General Manager to help scale their business, lead the team and turn strategy into consistent execution.

The role
This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for operations, execution, and performance. Working closely with the MD, you'll help shape strategy and then ensure it is delivered across the business commercially, operationally, and culturally.
You'll balance big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership, ensuring day-to-day operations, financial discipline, customer experience, and partner performance are all aligned with the business plan.

Key responsibilities
As General Manager, you will:
* Collaborate with the MD on strategy development, business planning, and execution
* Ensure day-to-day financial operations support the business plan, including:
* Cash flow management
* Job cost control
* Accurate invoicing and payments
* Effective dispute resolution
* Oversee operational contract compliance with customers and business partners
* Work closely with the sales team to qualify and win new business
* Oversee business partner onboarding, compliance, performance management, and ongoing engagement to meet quality standards (safety, legal, delivery, payment)
* Drive customer service performance, ensuring teams follow clear processes and have authority to resolve issues or escalate when required
* Analyse data and produce clear, insightful reporting and presentations for investors, customers, and internal stakeholders
* Lead, support, and hold teams accountable through clear priorities, weekly sprints, and measurable outcomes
* Take overall responsibility for operations and execution across the business

About you
You're a commercially minded operator who enjoys building scalable systems, leading people, and making confident decisions in fast-moving environments. You're comfortable working autonomously but thrive on bringing teams together around shared goals. You love technology and how when used cleverly it can create competitive advantage.
Skills, experience & technical capability
You'll likely bring:
* 5+ years' experience in operations leadership in digital marketplaces or other technology-enabled businesses
* Proven experience scaling operations while overseeing finance, service quality, and margins
* Experience leading multi-functional teams, preferably with P&L accountability
* Strong understanding of digital marketplaces, e-commerce, and go-to-market execution
* Proven ability to drive growth, providing clear role expectations for staff and hire effectively
* Strong process design and continuous improvement mindset
* Degree qualification in Finance, Business, Logistics or a related field (MBA well regarded)
* Passion for technology and innovation; exposure to AI / ML initiatives is highly regarded
