Dynamic/ Multi-Faceted Store Management role
- A working life where every day truly is different
- People outside of the retail industry should feel fine to apply
**Second in Charge to the Store Manager**
The key thing we are looking for is people management skills and the ability to get the most out of other people. Someone who isn't just worried about themselves, but someone who can get the best out of others and think about helping others to be the best version of themselves. Outside of that, we are quite open in terms of your background.
In fact, the store and department managers who have stayed in the long run have come from all sorts of backgrounds. They've come from trades, finance, hospitality, general management, some retail. In reality, they have come from all sorts of customer service backgrounds.
You will be coming into a working life that will stretch and challenge you on a number of levels. So, the person we are looking for is someone that loves a multi-dimensional challenge.
**And so, the key things we are looking for are characteristics, much more than experience**:
- A bigger picture thinker - a manager who is able to find win/wins with everyone they deal with. Be that the staff, customers, or other engaged "stakeholders."
- Commercial intelligence - someone good with numbers and understanding how profit margins can best work for all parties
- Socially aware - a person with empathy who is able to think about things from all sorts of points of view
- A high attention to detail - it's going to require an eager mentality where all things are treated as important. Whether they appear to be large or small
- Someone who is intrinsically positive - someone who can find a positive path forward from whatever situation arises
- But more than anything, someone who can get the best out of other people
- A workplace where each day is truly different and unique
- Genuine 24/7 support from senior management
- A significant, established, and achievable incentive system
- A training process that is extensive, specific, and enabling
- And a proven path towards professional development
To be clear, we are advertising for a position within the pawnbroking industry. Whilst we appreciate that as with any line of work, this significant part of our economy isn't for everyone. However, if you are the right profile of person, you could be pleasantly surprised by making the enquiry. This sector is now bound by an unprecedented level of regulations. It has also become more mainstream and popular due to over a decade of exposure on national and international television.
You will need to be okay with us talking to 2 x referees that you have worked for in the past. And also, be fine with us running a National Police check
