About the Role
An opportunity exists for a Team Leader – Engineering (South Australia) to join our growing team. Reporting to the Technical Manager and working with a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals, the team leader will be responsible for leading and managing the South Australia Engineering Team tasked with designing, developing, integrating and delivering complex wired and wireless communication system solutions. These solutions include digital radio systems and other wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G), microwave transmission, fibre-optic networks, underground solutions and remote communications facilities deployments (towers, shelters and associated power systems).
Key focusses of the role include management and team development, resource planning and allocation, and providing technical direction, oversight and assurance to ensure all engineering solutions are safe, and comply with all legislative requirements, Australian Standards and contractual requirements.
This working lead role will incorporate both management tasks and hands-on engineering. The position is predominantly office-based, with ad-hoc site visits for field leadership purposes.
Skills and Experience
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Communications, Electronic, Electrical, Telecommunications) or other relevant field
* Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia as a Professional Engineer at the grade of member (MIEAust), with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) being highly regarded.
* Minimum 15 years' experience performing a professional engineering role in a design and delivery context, with relevant experience in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracting environment
* Minimum five years' experience in people leadership positions managing a team of at least five personnel
* Relevant experience within a related industry such as Telecommunications, Mining, Oil & Gas or Defence with exposure to an integrated communication systems landscape
* Strong first principles understanding of wired and wireless telecommunications systems and networking disciplines, including underground solutions and exposure to related supporting infrastructure such as telecommunications facilities, towers and power systems
* Significant understanding of the engineering design, development and execution process
* Practical, hands-on approach, with exposure to a test and workshop build environment.
