**About the Facility**
Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South Western Region. It is Victoria's largest regional health service and one of the busiest hospital's in the State. We serve a population of over 500,000 through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages of life and circumstances through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.
**About the Role**
The Meal Monitor is responsible for facilitating and organising the process of patient meal selections from a menu cycle, ready for the tray line operation.
The Meal Monitor acts as a team member in the Department of Food Services, in order to provide quality menu selection processing services to patients/residents of Barwon Health. You will work together with other Barwon Health staff (Nurses, PSAs, Food Services staff & Dietitians Department, Speech Pathologists), in order to support patients/residents to achieve an optimum nutritional health via the following activities:
- Distribute, discuss and collect patient food choices from selective menus, for meals.
- Enter menu data into computerised CBORD menu software system.
- Liaise with the Dietitians Assistants and other Meal Monitors, regarding patient dietary requirements and to implement interventions as advised
- Act as a liaison between the patient/resident and Dietitians Assistants in order to monitor, and encourage patient dietary adequacy and dietary compliance
