We are a growing community-based sporting club. Run by a volunteer committee, the club manages memberships, sponsorships, events, competitions, gaming (both Keno and EGM's), and a small bar. We are currently using Reckon Hosted for our accounting and may transition to Xero in the near future.
Primary responsibilities, include:
Process accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank accounts and payment platforms
Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate coding
Prepare monthly financial reports for the committee
Manage payroll, superannuation and BAS processing
Assist with budget tracking and cash flow reporting
Prepare records for annual audit or review
Support potential transition from Reckon Accounts to Xero
To be effective in this role, applicants should have:
* Proven bookkeeping experience (minimum 3+ years preferred)
* Strong experience with Reckon Hosted; Xero experience advantageous
* Evidenced experience working with clubs, sporting associations, community organisations, or not-for-profits
* Strong understanding of GST, BAS preparation, and compliance obligations
* High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
* Able to work independently, and meet reporting deadlines
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with a volunteer committee and suggest exchanges to systems and processes
