About Invest Gold Coast

Invest Gold Coast is the City of Gold Coast's new investment and economic development organisation, established to drive growth, attract investment, and deliver city-shaping projects for Australia's fastest-growing city.

Invest Gold Coast is an independent entity with its own expert Board and leadership team, ensuring greater agility, transparency, and impact. The organisation works closely with the City of Gold Coast, its partner entities (Experience Gold Coast and Brand Gold Coast), investors, government partners, and the business community to:

* Promote the Gold Coast to domestic and international investors;
* Attract and facilitate major new investment projects;
* Provide independent commercial advice to Council on investment opportunities; and
* Strengthen the local business ecosystem, including export growth.

About the role

The Planning and Property Officer is a junior / entry level role that supports Invest Gold Coast's strategic goals by providing support predominantly on planning matters, but also property, with career development opportunities to build a skillset.

The role focuses on undertaking thorough land and property assessments, understanding regulatory parameters, identifying and advising on appropriate planning pathways, and supporting the delivery of the City's Priority Investment Projects. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the Officer undertakes planning investigations, understands current market drivers and factors, monitors relevant development approvals, and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to help derisk investment opportunities.

This role plays a key coordination and advisory role, ensuring planning considerations are clearly understood and communicated to support informed decision-making, ensuring long-term value creation and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct strategic and detailed due diligence on City, State and privately owned land to identify development, investment and community-use opportunities.
* Analyse market trends, land values and growth potential to inform strategic land allocation.
* Evaluate economic, social and environmental factors to support redevelopment and investment decisions.
* Prepare planning summaries, briefing notes and advice for internal stakeholders and potential investors.
* Support the review of key City assets, including ownership, zoning, due diligence searches and market conditions.
* Provide planning advice on investment attraction opportunities, including land use permissibility, zoning, overlays and development potential.
* Assist in identifying planning pathways for the City's Priority Investment Projects.
* Monitor changes to the City Plan, State legislation and planning instruments, advising on implications for investment.
* Build strong working relationships with internal teams, government agencies, developers, investors and community groups.

About you

* Demonstrated experience in strategic and statutory planning.
* Experience undertaking due diligence, site investigations, services and access assessments.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
* Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning (or equivalent).
* Class C driver's licence (unrestricted).
