We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Inner City Gardener to join our team and help maintain some of Cairns' most dynamic and well-loved venues.
What You Will Do:
As an Inner City Gardener, you will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the presentation of nominated Council venues. You will ensure each venue meets its required star rating through efficient and high-quality maintenance, all while working within budget guidelines.
This role also involves delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders in line with the high standards set by City Venues. Whether you are tending gardens or supporting event operations, you will contribute to creating clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for our community.
What We Are Looking For:
* Current Queensland Light Rigid (LR) Driver's Licence or ability to obtain, (to be able to independently drive between various locations).
* Certificate III in Horticulture and or considerable industry experience.
* White Card (General Safety Construction)
* Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness part 1 & 2 Qualification complying with (MUTCD) or ability to obtain.
* Demonstrated previous experience in high profile amenity and garden maintenance such as practical experience in irrigation systems, tree pruning, applications of fertiliser and general use herbicides & pesticides, etc.
* Demonstrated sound knowledge of the use of Horticultural machinery such as mowers, blowers, chainsaws, pole saws, hedgers, edges, aerators, etc.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Issues relevant to Landscape and Horticultural Maintenance Activities.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a high-profile public environment with an emphasis on communication and providing quality customer service.
