Overview
Clinical Nurse Consultant (Reprocessing Reusable Medical Devices)
The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical leadership and clinical expertise relevant to the speciality of Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), including the compliance of infrastructure to support this. This role is key to maintain compliance to AS5369 Standard across CQHHS, including all Central Sterilising Departments (CSDs), endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services and any other areas that use and reprocess reusable medical devices.
Responsibilities
* Provide advanced clinical leadership and clinical expertise related to Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices across CQHHS.
* Ensure infrastructure and processes comply with AS5369 Standard across Central Sterilising Departments, endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services and other areas that reprocess reusable medical devices.
* Support and drive adherence to reprocessing best practices and infection prevention standards within CQHHS.
Qualifications
* Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Certificate III in Sterilisation (from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent).
* Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australasia (GENCA) endoscopy reprocessing training (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements upon commencement).
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent).
* Extensive experience in an Infection Prevention and Control senior nursing role.
* Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.
* Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control.
* Working knowledge of software used in clinical and management environments, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and PowerPoint.
Remuneration and Benefits
1. Total remuneration value of up to $164,212, comprising:
2. An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
