We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products that meet our customers' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ranging, buying, and managing product categories to ensure our offering is innovative, customer-led, and commercially successful.
* Strategically growing categories such as Gifting Confectionery, Souvenirs & Apparel and working with new and innovative products.
* Sourcing and developing supplier relationships to maximize opportunities to buy the right products at the right price at the right time.
* Testing and identifying opportunities within our new Gifting & Souvenirs concept store.
* Identifying market trends by researching product history, supplier information, current trends, and competitor activity.
* Analysing historical statistical data by reviewing sales, profit, stock-turn, markdowns, by colour, subclass, and supplier performance.
* Conducting regular financial analysis of sales, margins, stock levels and markdowns and revaluating merchandise plan accordingly.
* Identifying opportunities to grow rebates across the category.
* Maintaining collaborative relationships with stores through regular visits.
* Growing and developing new areas of business identified as strategic growth opportunities.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Buyer or Account Manager within the FMCG industry.
* Ability and desire to learn a new category.
* Agile & fast-paced mindset who can take FMCG ways of working and adapt it to a new category.
* Strong commercial acumen, with an analytical mindset, and the ability to interpret data and market information.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain both supplier and senior stakeholder relationships.
* Resilient and results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting targets.
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Global sourcing experience would be beneficial.
* Experience within gifting or confectionery would be advantageous.
