Youth Outreach provides support for young people 16-25 years who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. We are committed to ending the cycle of homelessness and providing greater access to affordable and sustainable housing opportunities.
We are looking for a team member who is passionate about assisting young people to create the future they want. We also expect that you will have the ability to align with our mission, values, and purpose.
Mobile Support Workers provide assistance to young people living in the community. They also provide support to those who are seeking accommodation and support.
This role is a part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week).
Demonstrable ability to assist young people to gain, maintain and understand independent housing pathways.
Ability to advocate for young people.
Ability to assist in the development of independent living and life skills.
Experienced in strength-based, person-centered approaches.
Ability to provide holistic case management
Ability to assist young people to connect to community support, networks and participate in co-case management practices.
Ability to take work autonomously and effectively within a team.
MandatoryCompletion of Key Selection Criteria is required to be considered.
Minimum of a diploma level tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in the homelessness sector, youth work, community service or related discipline that provides a sound foundation of knowledge, skills and abilities required at this level.
Meet and maintain the conditions of employment relating to blue card, criminal history screen open licence holder and first aid & CPR.
