About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting tests, analysing samples, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards to support council initiatives.
* Collecting, preparing, and analysing water, soil, and environmental samples.
* Conducting tests using specialised equipment and ensuring accurate data recording.
* Assisting in the calibration, maintenance, and operation of laboratory equipment.
* Ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures and safety protocols.
* Maintaining detailed records and preparing technical reports.
* Supporting the implementation of laboratory best practices and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualification in Laboratory Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within local government or a regulated sector.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
* Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and procedures.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
