About the Role
As our Chief Engineer, you'll be the driving force behind the hotel's operational excellence—ensuring every system, every detail, and every innovation works seamlessly to create unforgettable guest experiences.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead the Engineering Department, manage a skilled team, and safeguard the hotel's assets while championing sustainability and compliance.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Engineering Department, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee maintenance of all hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety
Ensure compliance with Australian building codes and Hilton Brand Standards
Act as Chief Fire Warden and lead fire prevention and safety programs
Champion sustainability and energy-saving initiatives
Manage departmental budgets, stock control, and cost-saving measures
Conduct regular building inspections and maintain high-quality repair standards
Schedule and deliver multi-skills training for team members
Collaborate with other departments to support events and operational needs
Maintain strong relationships with local authorities and ensure regulatory compliance
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience in hotel/building services or related engineering fields
At least 2 years as Chief Engineer or 4 years as Assistant Chief Engineer in a 5-star hotel
Strong technical knowledge in water treatment, HVAC, hydraulics, electrical systems, and building services
Proven ability to manage and train a team effectively
Understanding of government regulations, technical standards, and energy conservation principles
Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
