Information Management Officer (APS 6 equivalent)
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Type: Labour Hire – 3 months with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAPA federal governmentagency is seeking a skilledInformation Management Officerto lead key initiatives that enhance its information governance maturity. This is a short-term opportunity with the potential to extend, ideal for someone ready to hit the ground running.
About the RoleIn this dynamic role, you will:
* Lead and deliver projects to strengthen information management practices.
* Maintain and enhance the Information Asset Register.
* Provide expert advice on records keeping requirements, including for cloud-based datasets.
* Clarify roles and responsibilities for information governance across the organisation.
* Review and update record security protocols.
* Manage sentencing and disposal of records in accordance with theNational Archives Act 1983.
* Maintain system access controls and ensure compliance with reporting obligations (e.g. Harradine Report, NAA Check-up).
* Develop training and communication materials to build staff capability.
* Draft briefs, procurement documents, and policies related to records and information management.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to broader corporate services activities.
Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in Information Management and records keeping.
* Proficiency inTRIM / Content Manager.
* Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* A proactive mindset with sound judgement and initiative.
Eligibility Requirements
* Must be an Australian citizen.
* Must hold a current Baseline Security Clearance.

Casual Loading
