About this opportunity:
Join our welcoming Walkerston Library team in this rewarding customer-facing role! We are seeking a friendly and proactive Library Assistant who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences for all members of our community.
This temporary part-time position (30 hours per week until 24 December 2026) offers a varied, supportive work environment with an alternating fortnightly roster and the opportunity to contribute to vibrant library programs and services.
In this role, you will:
* Deliver high-quality front-of-house customer service.
* Assist with borrowing, returns, memberships and general enquiries.
* Support library programs, displays and community activities.
* Help maintain an organised and accessible library collection.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers of all ages.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Good digital literacy and confidence using technology.
* Sound organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Previous library, customer service, or community services experience (highly regarded).
