To be eligible, candidates must have social work (or similar) qualifications, community service (or similar) diplomas and/or experience in client-centred social work, community work or a related field.

While5+ years of experience is preferred for appointment, candidates with a minimum of 12 months' experience in a relevant role are encouraged to apply and will be considered for the Case Worker position.

You will also demonstrate:

Experience providing client support in at least one of the following practice areas: family violence, elder abuse, or tenancy/public housing.

* Demonstrated experience in working with clients experiencing at least one of our practice areas (family violence, elder abuse and tenancy/public housing).
* An understanding of trauma-informed practice and the effects of trauma on wellbeing.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, determining the level of risk and safety planning.
* Experience in providing crisis support and advocacy to women and children experiencing or escaping family and/or who are in crisis.
* Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including dealing with clients with empathy, and working effectively as part of a team.
* Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands, keep accurate files and records, meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated understanding of family violence including the individual, familial, legal and social legal involved.
* An understanding and commitment to principles of social justice and to working effectively with Indigenous people.
* Knowledge of community resources relevant to the needs of the clients.
* High degree of comfort operating in the community outside an office environment, including working with clients in their homes and other external locations.
* Demonstrated personal resilience, adaptability, initiative, and ability to meet the challenges of remote service delivery.

While not essential, the following experience will be highly regarded:

* Prior work in acommunity legal centre or similar setting.
* Exposure toregional or remote service delivery environments.
* Experience developing or deliveringcommunity education programs.

Successful candidates will need (or be able to obtain) a current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence, a Working with Children Check (WA), and a National Police Clearance.
