Lead Inclusive Education Role
The Head of Department leads a large and complex area of responsibility within a P-12 institution of approximately 3700 students.
This position will lead inclusive processes and practices from Prep to Year 6, working within and across the Junior and Middle sub-schools.
* Manage an inclusive education team to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with barriers to learning, as needed (inclusive of Students with Disabilities and EAL/D learners).
* Provide high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with barriers to learning.
* Support case management for students who require extensive adjustments, lead supports during transitions of Prep students into the College, and oversee the case management of all substantial students P-6.
* Implement and coordinate school-wide systems, including data systems to monitor students with disability and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
* Maintain partnerships with parents, other government agencies, and community groups to support students with disability.
