About The Role
The Senior Business Partner – Finance provides expert level support and advice to Executive Directors, senior officers across the department and other responsible staff, for the effective and efficient financial management of their budget.
The role leads a team of advisors and finance officers in delivering a specialist consultancy service. It ensures development, implementation and monitoring of budget and financial strategies reflect the department’s critical needs in delivering high quality outcomes. The role liaises closely with senior departmental staff on the Division budget and its linkages with Budget internal processes, Estimates Committee process, Department of Treasury and Finance reporting and other financial responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of advisors and finance officers in providing specialist financial consultancy services.
- Ensure development, implementation and monitoring of budget and financial strategies.
- Advise Executive Directors and senior staff on financial management and budget considerations.
- Coordinate with internal processes and external reporting requirements (Estimates Committee, Treasury and Finance).
Qualifications
Essential: An appropriate tertiary qualification in accountancy, finance, business management or a relevant discipline.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant must gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment, renewed every five years. Incumbent will undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course, updated every three years. For all other Special Conditions refer to the attached Position Description.
Remuneration
ASO8 $121,107 - $125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
