About the Role
As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing major renovations and extensions, working hands-on with our team to deliver high-quality results. This is a key leadership role where you'll not only showcase your carpentry expertise but also play a vital part in managing on-site staff, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. A core part of this role is mentoring and upskilling team members on-site, helping to build capability and maintain our high standards across all projects. As a valued member of SilverPeak Construction, you'll contribute to the growth of both our team and the company.
Our service area spans up to 60 km from Bacchus Marsh and includes Ballarat, Hepburn, Macedon, and the Western and Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
· Minimum 5 years' experience working with a residential builder, ideally in a Site Manager or Site Supervisor role, managing renovation and extension projects.
· Minimum 5 years as a qualified carpenter, with hands-on experience in residential renovations—renovation experience is essential.
· Extensive experience in both residential extensions and full renovations is mandatory for this position.
· Project Management experience, supported by a Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction or Project Management.
· Both carpentry expertise and site supervision experience are mandatory requirements, with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in each discipline.
· Proven ability to lead and manage on-site teams, including subcontractors and apprentices, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
· A positive, can-do attitude with a genuine passion for the construction industry and continuous improvement.
· Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff through on-site training and upskilling.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
· Competent in using basic computer systems and software, including email, document management, and project tracking tools.
· A solid understanding of OHS regulations, site safety practices, and building codes relevant to residential construction.
· Current White Card and driver's licence (company vehicle may be provided, depending on role and experience).
Tasks & responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate the day-to-day site operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control
· Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and problem-solving
· Conduct structural set out and quality control
· OHS responsibility
· Liaise with project stakeholders- architects, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, to discuss and resolve construction matters
· Problem solving throughout the entire project, finding & offering the best solutions
