About the role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all engineering and maintenance activities at our Welshpool Gyprock factory on a 24-month fixed term contract. This role is available for an immediate start.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this position is responsible for driving plant reliability, strengthening asset performance, and ensuring maintenance strategies align with operational objectives and customer service requirements.
You will lead the maintenance function, oversee engineering operations, manage capital and operational budgets, and work closely with Production and Finance to deliver measurable performance outcomes.
You'll be joining our Interior Systems – Gyprock manufacturing site in Welshpool, a key operation within CSR. The site produces plasterboard products supporting residential and commercial construction across Western Australia.
The site operates within a structured manufacturing environment where safety, reliability, accountability and continuous improvement are core priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the site Maintenance and Engineering function to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations
* Develop and implement a robust preventative and reliability-centred maintenance strategy
* Improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime through structured maintenance practices
* Oversee maintenance planning and shutdown scheduling to achieve KPI targets
* Manage operational and capital maintenance budgets
* Lead and develop direct reports across Engineering and Maintenance
* Partner closely with Production to align maintenance priorities with manufacturing performance
* Manage contractors and ensure full compliance with safety and environmental standards
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects across the site
This is a leadership role requiring strong technical capability, structured thinking, and the ability to drive performance through people.
About you
* Proven experience in Maintenance or Engineering Management within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
* Strong technical capability across mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing maintenance teams
* Experience building and embedding preventative and reliability-based maintenance frameworks
* Experience managing operational and capital budgets
* Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
* Trade qualification or relevant industry background (tertiary education advantageous but not essential)
* A strong commitment to safety and compliance within an industrial environment
