Job Role
* Assist with unloading fresh seafood product from vessels and transfer it to designated storage areas
* Move various seafood products to chillers, freezers, and live tanks
* Sorting, dressing, and filleting fish requires a high level of proficiency in maintaining a recovery rate
* Sort, clean, and retrieve meat from shellfish and crustaceans
* Loading seafood products into trucks is also a key responsibility
* Packing boned and filleted seafood into cartons requires attention to detail
* Inspecting and grading fish and shellfish for size and quality is essential
* Packing fish and counting packs before freezing, then packing frozen fish blocks into cartons
* Operating machinery that slices, peels, skins, crumbles, and packages seafood product is vital
* Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas must be maintained
* Maintaining workplace safety regulations and adhering to industry standards is paramount
Requirements
* A minimum of one year's experience working in Australia, preferably in catching and handling crab
* Verifiable letters of reference may be accepted as alternative evidence
* Must provide verifiable references to confirm their qualifications
* This role involves physical labor, often in heavy seas and cramped spaces
