About the Tasmanian State Service

The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.

Broad operational direction and support will be provided by the Area Manager ADS North, and clinical governance will be provided by the Clinical Director.

The Specialist Medical Practitioner - ADS will:

* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with key stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the Pharmacotherapy Program.
* Exercise a significant level of independent clinical judgement.
* Act with integrity and uphold ethical standards.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable.

This selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.


Salary and Benefits:

Salary range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3: $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation and salary packaging options.

Access to additional allowances and benefits, including:

* Salary packaging benefits such as living expenses and meals and entertainment allowances.
* A fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or allowance of $28,389 per annum.
* Additional payments subject to approval, including a percentage of salary from the Private Patient Scheme.
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum.
* Travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for overseas and $10,000 for interstate applicants.
* Professional development opportunities and leave entitlements, including study leave.
* Fitness Passport access for you and your family.


Eligibility and Requirements:

* Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.

*Registration/licences must remain current throughout employment, and it is the employee’s responsibility to maintain them.

Desirable criteria include:

* Current Driver’s Licence.
