About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Townsville, supporting a new client in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment. This role involves working within a 24/7 care model including sleepover shifts and is ideal for someone confident in managing high or complex behaviours. You will play a vital role in creating a stable, safe, and supportive home environment while promoting the client's independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide daily support with living tasks, including meal preparation, cleaning, personal care (as required), and maintaining a safe home environment.
* Assist the client with Community Access, such as appointments, activities, and social participation.
* Complete shift notes, incident reports, and communication logs accurately.
* Encourage and empower the client to make choices, develop skills, and participate in daily routines.
What We're Looking For
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex or high behaviours (SIL experience highly regarded).
* Calm, resilient, and person centred approach to care.
* Clear communication skills and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
* Availability to work across a rotating 24/7 roster, including sleepovers.
Essential Requirements
* Open Class Driver's Licence and own vehicle
* Comprehensive car insurance
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
* QLD Blue card (Working with Children Check)
