**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking expressions of interest to serve as a Board Member on the ACMA Board. As Board Member you will contribute to a 'skills based' Board, and, in collaboration with the Chair and other Board Members, set the direction for delivering a range of initiatives for customers, traders, the business and community to maintain and enhance the iconic standing of the Market for all stakeholders.

As a Board Member you will contribute through your expertise, to the Market to help ensure it is recognised as a world leading food and produce market that shares enduring connection with our community and that is commercially sustainable for traders and the City of Adelaide. You will also help to guide the Adelaide Central Market through the exciting opportunities arising from the adjacent Market Expansion redevelopment.

**About You**

To complement the diversity of skills and backgrounds across the ACMA Board, you will have expertise in and will be able to demonstrate high level experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

- Retail property/ leasing expertise and centre management
- Project management in commercial and mixed-use development and construction
- Urban design and place making
- Retail and food curation

Other core knowledge, skills and experience should include:

- Commercial experience
- Financial management
- Change management
- Leadership and ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders

Applicants will be required to have previous Board or Director experience and membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) will be highly regarded. The ACMA Board meets every six weeks, and the position is remunerated. Participation in Sub-Committees of the Board can be required, depending on expertise.

Located in the geographic heart of Kaurna Country, the Adelaide Central Market has been an icon in the city for over 150 years and is a community of people: traders, artisans and shoppers who share a passion for food and cultural experiences. The Market is making history again with a once-in-a-generation development, part of the $400m commercial and mixed-use Market Square development, a joint venture project between the City of Adelaide and ICD Property. This architecturally designed project will deliver a flagship mixed-use precinct of national significance and will create a new social and commercial hub for the city, with the Market doubling in size.

The City of Adelaide recognises the important economic and cultural role of the Market and established the Adelaide Central Market Authority (ACMA) to build a solid and sustainable foundation for the Adelaide Central Market's future. The Adelaide Central Market Authority (ACMA) is a subsidiary of City of Adelaide (CoA) and is governed by a Board of Directors. The Authority's aim is to operate sustainably as a thriving team of Traders, Board and Management who create unique, diverse and memorable customer experiences that enhance our precinct, city and state.
