Sales Representative - Metrology Equipment & Inspection Software

We are expanding our team and seeking a motivated Sales Representative who is passionate about precision technology and eager to help customers achieve world-class measurement results.
About the Role
As a Sales Representative with Lightwave Technology, you will be responsible for selling our full range of metrology equipment and inspection software, including portable 3D scanners, automated scanning systems, dimensional metrology tools, and digital inspection platforms.
This role involves a mix of new business development, technical demonstrations, and account management, working closely with manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, defence, medical, and precision engineering clients.
Key Responsibilities
Grow sales across Lightwave Technology's full metrology and inspection product portfolio.
Identify and engage new business opportunities across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering sectors.
Present, demonstrate, and explain metrology systems (e.g., CMMs, laser scanners, portable arms, surface measurement tools).
Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations, including software walkthroughs and basic measurement workflows, for 3D scanners, CMMs & optical systems.
Provide technical product information and solution recommendations tailored to customer needs.
Prepare proposals, quotations, tender responses, and assist in commercial negotiations.
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and support long-term account growth.
Collaborate with our engineering and applications team to ensure seamless installations and customer onboarding.
Attend trade shows, technical events, and customer visits to promote the company and products.
Maintain accurate CRM entries, pipeline updates, and monthly sales reporting.
Key Requirements
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate complex measurement concepts.
Understanding of manufacturing, machining, quality control, or dimensional inspection workflows.
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-engagement skills, capable of running hands-on demonstrations with software and hardware.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to tailor solutions to customer needs.
Proven track record in sales, business development, or technical customer engagement.
Self-driven, organised, and capable of working autonomously.
Willingness to travel for client visits, demonstrations, and industry events.
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred
Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related technical fields.
Highly desirable
Experience with metrology systems such as portable 3D scanners, CMMs, laser scanning systems, or industrial microscopes.
Familiarity with inspection or analysis platforms (e.g., PolyWorks, Geomagic Control X, PC-DMIS, Metrolog etc).
Understanding of GD&T, CAD software, or manufacturing quality processes.
Experience in technical or industrial equipment sales (or strong technical background with desire to move into sales).
Valid driver's licence.
