Key Infrastructure Planner Position
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned planner to join our team as a Key Infrastructure Planner. As the organization's subject-matter expert, you will provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders and represent us externally in matters related to local infrastructure contributions.
The role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders within the organization and involves influencing policy reform both internally and externally. You will be responsible for interpreting planning legislation, leading continuous improvements to various systems and procedures, and working closely with the Finance Branch to manage the financial aspects of the contributions system.
* You will play a lead role in negotiating planning agreements that deliver significant community benefits and work with other key stakeholders to assess and manage financial and legal risks associated with the contribution system.
* This position also involves providing expert advice on planning reports, delivering effective outcomes on time and on budget, and applying Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health & Safety, and ethical practice principles at all times.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced planner who possesses strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and coherent planning reports. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning, Project Management, or a related discipline, and substantial demonstrated experience in working with the local infrastructure contributions framework.
* Detailed knowledge of the NSW Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and associated Regulations, the Local Government Act, and other relevant legislation is essential for this role.
* Strong project management skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities are also required, as well as experience in analytical work concerning the preparation and review of development contributions plans, system and process improvements, and negotiation of voluntary planning agreements and/or works-in-kind agreements.

Further Information
This is a permanent position with 70 hours per fortnight and a salary range of $114,499 p.a. with progression to $126,385 p.a. on demonstrated competencies. We are an inclusive workplace that supports reasonable workplace adjustment and is committed to equal employment opportunities.
